The Global Theatre Project

Often working on a show and involving yourself in other people’s stories causes artists to view their own life differently. I asked our team if they are thankful for anything specific after spending time on our rehearsals for the bilingual performance portion of Especially Now: Create the World Together. The replies are beyond inspiring.

-Cindy Marie Jenkins

What am I thankful for? After diving into A Stubborn Woman rehearsals,I realize I am extremely grateful that I live in a country that (mostly) allows me to openly discuss and explore sensitive issues regarding right and wrong, and that I have the ability to decide for myself what I believe.

Alexandra Goodman, Ensemble

It is not only that I am grateful, which I constantly am, for the unexpected and beautiful experiences and incredible people who come to join me on this journey.  I am also humbled by what I learn on each of our projects about the world in which I live. When we work on events like ‘Especially Now’ I have an opportunity to grow in my sensitivity and appreciation. And growing and learning side-by-side with others while you are creating together is something to be deeply grateful for.

– Bari Hochwald, Artistic Director

Of course my dear friends and incredible family, but I am also so thankful to have theatre in my life.  It gives me such pleasure to be able to tell stories with such a great group of artists.

Lisa Cirincione, Ensemble

This year I am thankful for the ability to follow my passion and do so with so many wonderful artists.

Jason Thomas, Ensemble

There is darkness and light in life. I am thankful for the beautiful people in my life who can bring me through dark times with their inspiration, big hearts and unique minds. I am glad to have wonderful friends and colleagues who tell their own stories and live with courage and creativity; they bring color and vitality to the world and make it a better place to be.
